THIS IS SKFC
WHAT WE DO
We are delighted to have you join the SKFC team, whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced fencer. We provide professional foil, épée, and saber fencing instruction. We are also led by the head fencing instructor at West Point, Ibrahima Ndiaye.
We promise great results in a short amount of time no matter at what level you are at.
WHY FENCING
Any age 7 and older can participate in fencing, which is an all-year activity. It is a great way to assist and maintain fitness. In a secure and healthy atmosphere, it is a sport that also teaches self-control, perseverance, goal-setting, and respect for oneself.

When compared to other sports, fencing has one of the greatest conversion percentages among HS athletes who go on to fence in college. Many top-tier NCAA colleges aggressively recruit for their team. It opens up other avenues, such as athletic scholarships and increased college exposure.
SWORDS
FOIL

EPEE

SABRE

The foil is solely used as a thrusting weapon. Fencers can only score a hit by striking their opponent's defined target area, which is simply the torso, with the point of their weapon.
The epee is similar to the foil, but it is a little heavier and features a triangular blade in place of the flat one. Additionally, the hand guard is bigger than it is with foil swords. Similar to touches, just the tip of the blade can be used to score but the entire body is a target.
Instead of just using the tip like they do with the other fencing weapons, fencers use the rear and cutting edge of the sabre to score. It allows swipes and cutting motions for point scoring. Additionally, the Fencing Sabre incorporates a guard for hand defense.
